117. Tetra Gospel

Second half of the 16th c. National Library of Belarus, Minsk

Handwritten Tetra Gospel that belongs to the National Library of Belarus was created in the second half of the 16th century. The text was written in the Ukrainian half-uncial which reminds of the Peresopnytsia Gospel. The book cover is made of dark-red leather and wooden boards, decorated with an impressed foliage pattern. Certain pages of the book contain entries from 1671 which testify about its former owners.
