Section 13. Old Printed Bibles from Belarus

137. The Apostle. Printed by Spirydon Sobal

Mahiliou, 1638. National Library of Belarus, Minsk

The third publication of the Apostle took place in Mahiliou. It was printed by a prominent Belarusian publisher, enlightener and translator Spirydon Sobal, the founder of printing houses in Kyiv (1628), Kutseina (1635) and Buinichy (1635). For some time the book was preserved at the library of the Cathedral of Saint Sophia in Polatsk (there’s an entry at the book about it).
