86. Jakub Wujek’ Bible

The full translation of the Bible into Polish that was done by the Jesuit priest and Chancellor of Vilnius Academy Jakub Wujek and published in 1599. Wujek’s Bible is widely recognized as a wonderful Bible translation and one of the outstanding Renaissance achievements in Poland. This Bible substituted the Leopolita Bible and was used until the next translation from the original in 1965.
